Monica Morona

Cropping and livestock farmer

Monica Morona is a third-generation farmer from Hay, NSW. Monica combines her passion for agriculture with extensive experience in energy, water and environment policy across Commonwealth and State Governments. She specialises in navigating complex regulatory environments, advising Ministers and senior leaders, and delivering pragmatic policy outcomes through inclusive engagement. Monica now manages the irrigation and grazing farming business with her brother and sister, along with industry commitments across Australian Ricegrowers Association, NSW Irrigators Council and National Farmers Federation.
Her family farming business WB Pastoral has recently partnered with Hiringa Energy to develop Riverina Renewable Fertiliser (RRF) low-carbon fertiliser and hydrogen production plant. RRF will provide security of supply and long-term price stability to the regional fertiliser market, while enabling growers to access premium low-carbon markets for their crops.
