Philippa Hammond is an innovation scientist at CSIRO, with a background in Psychology and a PhD in Evolutionary Anthropology from the University of Oxford, UK. She has previously worked as a behavioural science consultant on international development projects in Kenya, Ethiopia and India. At CSIRO, Philippa works at the intersection of academic and applied science for sustainability, collaborating on projects with federal and state government departments, as well as with industrial and community stakeholders in Australian regions planning for the net zero transition. These have included projects on green steel in South Australia and at the intersection of the renewable energy, biofuels, and agricultural sectors in Tasmania. She has a particular interest in developing participatory methods for assessing, implementing, and scaling decarbonisation activities across Australia’s hard-to-abate sectors.
