Professor Mark Howden is one of Australia and the world’s leading climate scientists. He is a shared recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his work as a lead author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He is the former Director of the Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions at The Australian National University, an Honorary Professor at Melbourne University, Vice Chair of Working Group two at the IPCC and contributes to numerous national and international science and policy advisory bodies.
Mark has over 36 years of experience working on climate variability, climate change, innovation and adaptation in partnership with industry, community and policy groups. His work spans agriculture and food security, natural resources, ecosystems, energy, water and urban systems, making him one of Australia’s most respected voices on the impacts of climate change.
