Verity Morgan-Schmidt was the inaugural CEO for Farmers for Climate Action and has recently rejoined the FCA team in the capacity of Acting CEO. Most recently, Verity has been CEO for AgZero in WA, a farmer led organisation committed to engaging, informing and empowering farmers and rural communities to advance climate solutions, embrace the opportunities of a clean energy economy and to thrive in a changing climate. Verity grew up in the sheep and wheat country of WA’s wheatbelt and has spent her life championing the voices of farmers on critical issues. With a Masters in Sustainable Development and a career that has gone from boardrooms to biospheres, Verity’s previous roles have included inaugural CEO for Farmers for Climate Action, Chair of Australia’s Sheep Industry Sustainability Framework, leading The Climate Council’s work in Queensland, Executive Officer for WAFarmers and more. Verity lives on beautiful Ballardong Boodja in Western Australia with her husband and four daughters.
